Original text from the Ars Goetia:

“The Ninth Spirit in this Order is Paimon, a Great King, and very obedient unto LUCIFER. He appeareth in the form of a Man sitting upon a Dromedary with a Crown most glorious upon his head. There goeth before him also an Host of Spirits, like Men with Trumpets and well sounding Cymbals, and all other sorts of Musical Instruments. He hath a great Voice, and roareth at his first coming, and his speech is such that the Magician cannot well understand unless he can compel him. This Spirit can teach all Arts and Sciences, and other secret things. He can discover unto thee what the Earth is, and what holdeth it up in the Waters; and what Mind is, and where it is; or any other thing thou mayest desire to know. He giveth Dignity, and confirmeth the same. He bindeth or maketh any man subject unto the Magician if he so desire it. He giveth good Familiars, and such as can teach all Arts. He is to be observed towards the West. He is of the Order of Dominations [Dominions]. He hath under him 200 Legions of Spirits, and part of them are of the Order of Angels, and the other part of Potentates. Now if thou callest this Spirit Paimon alone, thou must make him some offering; and there will attend him two Kings called LABAL and ABALI , and also other Spirits who be of the Order of Potentates in his Host, and 25 Legions. And those Spirits which be subject unto them are not always with them unless the Magician do compel them. His Character is this which must be worn as a Lamen before thee, etc.”

From the Luciferian Goetia by Michael Ford

“Paimon is an angel-daimon of Lucifer, whom appears as a man crowned upon a camel. This spirit is a familiar of musick, thus by invoking Paimon one may work through an avenue of self-initiation through creating musick. Paimon is a powerful Angelick King of the Witchcraft, whom has 200 Legions of spirits – half are the Orders of Angels, the others being Potentates. Paimon appears with two Spirit/Djinn – Label and Ablim who are referred to as Kings. Paimon is perhaps one of the most significant Angelick Rulers, which along with Astaroth (whom is more bestial/demonic in nature and appearance) opens the way to the “Grail” of Lucifer’s crown – the perception of “I” and the mind separate from the universe. Paimon is a higher spirit of self-initiation, who is a path maker for ones own becoming. Paimon sometimes appears as an angelick spirit with a flaming sword. His office is Guardian of the Path through Leviathan, the Guardian of the Depths and Subconscious.”

From the Daemonolatry Goetia by S. Connolly

“He teaches all arts and sciences and occult.  He can be invoked to bind others.  To be observed toward the west with offerings. Seek Paimon to understand Alchemy. Seek Paimon for creative pursuits or to design a plan of action. Paimon can also help in emotional understanding.”

Priestess Akelta…. Some sources claim that Azazel and Paimon are the same.  I disagree that Paimon and Azazel are the same, They feel incredibly different in energy and they are very different in approach and mannerisms. This excerpt from the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage gives some more insights into why I think this crossing happened.

“Is also frequently written “Paymon”, and sometimes “Paimonia”. Probably from Hebrew, POMN, = a tinkling sound or small bell. This is again derived from the Hebrew root POM, = to agitate, impel, or strike forward. The word POMN is employed in Exodus 28.34, 28.33, and 39.25. Paimon is also called by the Rabbins by the title of OZAZL, Azazel, which is a name used in Leviticus with reference to the scape-goat. Its derivation is from OZ, = a goat; and AZL, = to go away. It has frequently been warmly discussed whether the word in question means simply the scape-goat, or whether it signifies a demon to whom that animal was dedicated. But in Rabbinic demonology it is always used to mean one of the chief demons.”

I think the names got crossed over time in finding words to mean the chief demons. There was a tradition of releasing a goat to the desert as an offering to Azazel and other Demons in order to appease them, as a Scapegoat. I think that is how this came about, through language, many demons get crossed and mixed this way.

He, please don’t take this the wrong way. My intention is not to be rude but the associations you have for King Paimon, most of them are completely wrong. He is one of my guardians and my patron demon, I work with him all the time and he has confirmed this to me and you can check other websites, they have the same information Paimon provided to me.

I will give you the correct information so any of your followers will not be accidentally misguided and end up associating the wrong colors and elements and such with Paimon. It could cause newer uneducated sorcerers and witches to make mistakes when evoking him.

    Color: Blue and Black
    Zodiac: Taurus
    Planet: Mercury
Zodiac Position: 10-14 degrees of Taurus
    Dates: April 30th-May 4th
    Tarot Card: 6 of Pentacles
    Metal: Mercury
    Element: Earth
Candle color: Black and Dark blue

Bindweed for the plant and Frankinsence for the incense are correct though.

    • This is interesting you say this and I want to thank you for sharing your personal path and information you have attained from your personal work with Lord Paimon.

I have worked with Paimon a lot and have visited his Palace in the astral realm and been a guest in his home. For my personal journey with him, Paimon expressed to me his preferences for gold and to the sun and for my path, those are the two symbols that resonate most strongly with him and are called to me to include in any connecting ritual I do with him. I also will burn Frankincense for him as to me, these are vibrational items befitting a Demon King. This is my personal path and what I am called to offer him.

That is wonderful that Paimon is your guardian and patron and you were given this information for connecting with him and I have no doubt that there are those who will benefit from your wisdom. There will also be others who will benefit from the offerings I use and it is important I think to share the path we have taken to connect with these beings, but realize that often they will inspire personal ways to help us connect and work with them from a personal level.

I believe we are guided to things that work best for us. The important thing is taking the time to build our spiritual foundation and prepare ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually to make contact with these incredible entities. From there, listening to our core and following the guidance laid out for us.

I do appreciate the information you have shared as it does show we are often inspired to connect to various demons through the individuality of our paths and it is best to follow those inspirations as they are leading us to the best approach for us.

My personal way of connecting with him has been inspired by my direct workings with him. I always include Gold, Crystals charged with the suns radiance, Frankincense of Oud and items of beauty that to me resonate with him. I have had incredible discussions with Paimon and have enjoyed his company immensely and the wisdom and gifts he has given me, and I encourage anyone wanting to connect with him, to show respect as he is a demon King, do your foundational ground work and self development, and follow what resonates with you when connecting with him. Thank you again for your post 🙂

      • Although I don’t officially have a patron demon, if I did it would be King Paimon. I have seen references to both 6 of Disks and 10 of Swords (and the corresponding astrological decans associated with these cards) associated with him. However, to me his energy feels much more connected to the 6 of Disks than the 10 of Swords (who would really want to bring the energy of the 10 of Swords into their life?). Frankincense is definitely the incense I prefer to burn in his honor (and I think it is pretty commonly accepted that it is his favorite), but if for whatever reason I don’t have and can’t immediately get Frankincense, I will burn something else in his honor.

  • To say that someone is “wrong” in their offerings and reverence of a Deity they work with is in and of itself “wrong”.

Paimon is also my patron, who is very much like a father to me. It wouldnt matter one bit if i offered him a red candle if it was all I had. He wouldnt care. At the end of the day these are all magick peripherals. Peripherals are merely triggers to get you in the right ritual frame of mind. I am not a “new uneducated sorcerer” ,I’ve spent years and thousands on my magickal education, which frankly is a good thing because then i would at this point have to decide which way to go. Do I go with the flow of what some random person says that “other websites say this color” or someone who has several websites based on demons? Or should i branch out and go my own way?

I believe either colors could be right. Paimon’s direction is NW, and W is water, blue representing that, North is earth so technically either could be right. But lets not forget Paimon’s rank, and that is one of the four Kings of the Goetia. It is then logical that one would associate gold with that of a king and therefore make corresponding offerings of gold as opposed to blue. This is a great example of how what works for one might not work for another and how diverse demons can be when working with them.

I would counter your post, Nova, with this: To the newer sorcerers and those interested in beginning work with demons- Keep to the basic rule of Respect. Respect first, and trust your instincts. As you can see they can vary from one camp to another, and thats ok. If you feel pulled to another colour, youre not wrong. Go with it. That could be your own unique way your deity is choosing to bond or communicate with you. Your intuition is much more valuable than all the advice from well meaning sticklers.

you’re highly contradicting yourself. Saying King Paimon would accept a red candle and then you proceed to say you should do gold instead of blue.

Why nkt stay at red candlr if it’s all you have.?

  • I think king paimon usually meets me one way or another during the very beginning of the year. It’s usually from Jan – March. But I have yet to ask him if it was also him that I met in a different house, or if that was just the house’s spirit. The second time was around the same time frame a year after, and I was drawn to a certain guitar at a friend’s house. As I played and played, I had later had a strange urge to just look up a demon from the goetia and it had been him. I’ve never been interested in any demon before and after, save for him. So I’m pretty sure it was him on both accounts, or perhaps even Gomery/Gremory; also a feminine appearing demon riding on a dromedary having extravagant details of fashion and crowns.

The gold part is definitely something to associate him with. And if you try to contact him at night, he will be very rushed and agitated. (There was another article of a mother having the apartment alone to herself and tried it— and I tried it because someone came to me asking if they would be mentioned in a ritual, and see if paimon would help to open up the magician’s mind’s eye so he could summon on his own)

Different sources say he is of a water, earth, or fire element. Possibly he’s a bit of everything?

I associate him with the flower morning glories. And I have talked to another friend, though Indian, and they said that king paimon is indeed a woman– from an Indian spirit (other sources say he is from Assyrian culture and was previously a major god to that culture) and that she enjoys Indian foods. But that just may be because the person was Indian.

What we can all draw from here is that king paimon enjoys the best of which you can offer— your background is irrelevant. Just make sure the feast is fit for a king 😉

    • A lot of things are personal experience and how the magician aligns with the demon, which is why we highly encourage people to research and learn, but also not be afraid to modify things if they are called in a particular direction. I have had no issues contacting Paimon at night though the first rituals I did with him were during the day and I know that energy aligns very well with him. I like to build up connection with them over time and have developed some incredible relationships with them that way. It is very interesting all the different experiences people have with then and I thank you for sharing yours! I agree with making sure it is a feast fit for a king 🙂

When I was part of a coven of witches years ago I had a dream about working with the element of Air (although I am a water sign I was always chosen to call in the elements of air or fire). In the dream I walked to look up at a sky window (facing North; in the southern hemisphere) and a handsome, arabic or indian youthful naked man wearing a small crown was looking down at me with the blue sky behind him. I wonder if is this was King Paimon or even Lucifer. Any suggestions?

When I began chanting his RnB and trying to make contact with King Paimon I got an image flag in my mind of a young mans face smiling down at me with a bright blue sky behind him. He looked happy to see me was the over all feeling. The only other colour was blinding white and gold of the sun.

I am new to the Goetia but King Paimon resonates deep within me in an uncanny way.

  • I’m new to some of this and slightly educated in some as well. I feel as a musician i have been called to King Paimon. I’ve often looked into various forms of spirtuality. It’s kind of a hobby of mine. The moment i first found information about demons, and how old it all dates back, i was hooked. I researched how to contact these entities, but never bit the bullet on trying to contact them. But, ever since i discovered King Paimon, i feel like he’s more apparent in the world around me. I see his name sometimes when i haven’t thought of him in a while. I am ready to give it a shot, but i really feel i am in need of some more information on how to go about it. It’s always been in my nature to try and have all my ducks in a row and to have to most knowledge i can before undertaking anything like this. So, aside from what i’ve looked up on various sites and videos (this is the first i’ve found that made it easier to understand, so i’m commenting), what are some good tips? I’m very much intrigued, and i really do feel like that’s where i’m drawn.
